Well, here I started  this blog three years ago, and....

The dolls are kind of disgusted.  They really wanted a blog of their own.  They have been threatening to write it themselves.

I might let them.

I wasn't sure about what format I wanted.  But lately, reading some of my favorite doll blogs, I realized I don't have to be locked in to just one format.

So I'm going to start by introducing some of my dolls.

Every dolly community has their own things they like to do.  Mine like to play musical instruments together.

You'll often find someone singing. Or dancing.

They also enjoy puppets.

This is Romy.

When she was in the box, she was a Teen Courtney.

I love her freckles.  Someone else who owned her decided to trim her hair.

I rebodied her to a belly-button body with jointed elbows and knees.  But I'm thinking about giving her a Liv body.  I think it would suit her better.

I think she likes being in the middle of things.

A blog for the dollyfolk

This blog is because I felt like having one for my doll folk. It's their own space. Mostly for 1/6 scale folk, but the others may wander in.

Above you can see five of my favorites. This is how I chose the ones for the picture--I chose the template with the marvelous orange spirally swirls. Then I thought I should have a picture that went with those swirls.

First on the left is a Dollikin. She doesn't have her own name yet. I was playing with dolls in the era when Dollikin was in her heyday, but I never heard of her till a couple of years ago. Probably because I was living in Southeast Asia then... I guess Dollikin didn't get over there.

Next to Dollikin is a reproduction Francie. I loved Francie when I was growing up. Both those girls are very Mod, and the orange swirls looked Mod to me, so I wanted them in the picture!

Next to Francie is Oliver (a Modern Circle Ken). I love his thoughtful expression. He borrowed the orange shirt from someone else who was wearing it at the time.

I didn't intend for him to be the only guy in the pic, but decided not to squeeze too many dolls into the photo.

Next to Oliver is the lovely Sidonie (formerly known as Vitamin C). Her bright hair needed to be seen with the orange swirls, and that graphic top fits in with the 70's mood. (I can't remember where it's from. We have a lot of random doll clothes floating around this house.)

Next to Sidonie is Generation Girl Mari, who possibly needs a name of her own. She was already wearing the cropped orange T-shirt, on her new Liv body. (As you see, Sidonie has a new jointed body too. And when I figure out how to re-body Miss Francie, just wait.)

Here is one more pic of the five of them, sitting companionably on top of my computer monitor.

Now we've made a beginning. What stories they will have to tell...
